However, now that I've finally seen it, I found myself loving almost every aspect and thoroughly enjoying the experience. That said, upon reflection, I feel there is a crucial missing piece: the portrayal of the female lead. While women can certainly be power-hungry and capable of abuse, I struggle to envision a female villain engaging in power abuse in the same manner as depicted, mirroring male counterparts. The film falters for me because the director seems to have constructed the character from his own perspective and imagination of how women in power might behave, rather than a more nuanced or authentic portrayal. This causes the narrative to crumble for me. Nevertheless, the filmmaking and performances are truly masterful.
